Chefs and the City 2011

‘Jackson’s Finest Chefs come together to help raise money for the Simon Sharp Eagle Fund JACKSON--Several of Jackson's finest chefs join together to present "Chefs and the City: A Taste of Hollywood" weekend event at the historic Fairview Inn in Jackson on Friday, November 18th and Saturday, November 19th. The third annual event begins with the Chefs Dinner on Friday, November 18 at 6 p.m. at the Fairview Inn, which features a five course meal by local celebrity chefs. The Dinner also includes Hollywood style entertainment of Jimmy Keys, silent and live auction and the 2011 Simon Sharp Eagle Award Presentations. Tickets are $150 per person and include Hor'derves & Cocktails, Five-Course Dinner with Wine Pairings Entertainment of Jimmy Keys and Live and Silent Auction. Call 601-948-3429, ext. 314 to order tickets. Saturday, November 19th at 9 a.m. at the Fairview Inn in Jackson is the setting for Simon’s Walk. The 5K Walk and Run event honors Simon Sharp, a 15-year-old who courageously fought leukemia while raising money to build a veterans’ memorial, his Eagle Scout project. Simon’s Walk showcases local celebrity chefs, live entertainment and a Celebrity Look-a-like contest with local celebrity judges. There is no cost for registration for Simon’s Walk, but individual donations over $25 will receive a free t-shirt.

About the Fund:The Simon Sharp Eagle Fund was established to honor a remarkable life while raising money for worthy causes. Created in 2008, the fund's inaugural event—Chefs and the City—benefits the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Boy Scouts of America—Andrew Jackson Council.These two organizations based in Jackson, Mississippi played meaningful roles in the life of Simon Sharp, a 15-year-old Boy Scout whose courageous 15-month battle against leukemia ended the day after he became an Eagle Scout.
